EGBA WA O, EBI NPA WA O

EGBA WA O, EBI NPA WA O

"Nigerians cry in unison, a chorus of despair
Who wrote this song we sing, with no end in sight?
Politicians, perhaps, who fan the flames
Of discord and division, with no cohesion in sight

Dollar and Naira, a jamboree in our land
Forcing us to dance to their tune, at their command
What's the difference between tamboree and jamboree?
Just empty words, as we suffer, you see

Egba wa oo, or ki epaa wa ooo, we cry
Save us or kill us, we're tired of asking why
Emilokan, where are the testimonies of old?
We did it in Lagos, but now our voices are cold

We lost our unity, our purity, our sense of right
Everybody's chasing seniority, day and night
ILE TO NLO ASO ROCK, a stronghold of power and might
But even angels from heaven can't fix our plight

Why? Because we're tribalistic, divided we stand
Hunger ravages the land, rice and beans, a luxury to hand
KILODEEE! we exclaim, as prices soar each day
Na so we see am, the seller's response, as we fade away"

"Tomatoes' price weeps tears of sorrow
Paper's smile has faded away
Eating's a necessity, a child's plea
School fees lament in a sorrowful sway

But still, our national anthem stands tall
A symbol of hope, in the midst of our fall
In this crisis of hunger and scarcity's grasp
The cow's value rises, as our bellies rasp

In a land of plenty, we struggle to eat
The cost of living soars, our future to greet
We sing our national anthem with pride and cheer
But the pangs of hunger, our daily fear"
