LETTER TO TOPE ALABI
LETTER TO TOPE ALABI
The mount that speaks honey
The voice that sounds melodious
The tongue that wag peace
Who endowed you with grace
Even in your experimental disgrace
Yester-years speak your struggle
When you are lipping from pillar to polls
Just to make a living
Yes, we noticed errors engulfed your suit
Bloomer chorus alongside with you
Deceit mounts the stage with you
With your innocent mind, you played along
Yet you pen is often spilling the ink
I mean the ink that stains and starched us to you
Tope, Please, tell me the truth!
Who is dictating your lines of song to you?
Even when you compose for secular
You never expected it in dollar
In the realm of your melodies divine
You turn a beacons’
shine
Your voice is a vessel of pure and factual singing
A tale of faith in every hue
With notes that soar like prayers on high
It lift our spirits to the sky
Lyrics woven with threads of grace
Your stage, your pulpit, your songs are like psalms
Echoing through souls like a soothing balm
In rhythm and rhyme the spirit flows
A gospel artist of our time, your passion glows
In every of your chord, the truth is heard
A symphony of faith,
your voice does crest
ORE TI O COMMON became common in our earing
And from the background of sound track
Your silhouette receives the light that revealed the
realness of
Tope Alabi
I can’t mention your success without mentioning the creative
mind
Of SOJI ALABI
We thought your days of shinning were numbered
Because fame will soon frame your mind
Your eyes will be beclouded with fame
Your ears will be so noisy
And Your ink will have no strength again to stain the brain
Your flow will grow wag
But you got us disappointed, your ink is ever stained
Your flow is ever green
With your local Yoruba dialect
You cant win the race if you go foreign
Kape laye, kajaye ife titi, koni ki aye gbo
Even with your fame, you frame the words
Your song is local, yet you have the vocal
I mean in my local dialect YORUBA
No wonder they call you the queen of YORUBA
You are worthy, you are worthy of our praise
If Ewe ati Egbon made your foundation
I bet you, you might have long gone
Why? There are expiring date for their potency
After the saga with AJANAKU
You still stand your like ROCK
It obvious you are just a victim of ignorance
Because your lyrics echo heavenly grace
It paint a portrait of sacred space
It notes uplift like prayers on wigs
Through trials and triumphs, the music unfolds
A testament of faith in stories untold
In your rhythm of hymns, souls find solace
A soothing balm in moments of hatred
Your gift is a blessing, it goes beyond EWE ATI EGBO
Since 2001 till date
For 24 years, you are still reigning
You will reign forever
And you will not miss heaven in Jesus name. Amen
This is my letter to Tope Alabi
